Having delighted audiences in France, Germany and Australia with her varied programs, sensitive interpretation and beautiful tone, pianist Sarah Watson will perform for the first time at Wesley of Warragul.
Her intimate rapport with the public and the ideas and anecdotes she shares about the music she performs brings each work to life.
From the structured classical lines of Beethoven’s first Piano Sonata to the lulling beauty of Chopin’s Berceuse and two of his best loved nocturnes, this program will bring pleasure to all music lovers.
After studying with Max Cooke at the University of Melbourne, Sarah performed regularly in recitals and radio broadcasts with The Team of Pianists, both in Australia and in Europe. As the recipient of the Bill Burell Accompanying Award, she was given the opportunity to work with pianist and chamber musician Elyane Laussade.
Her love of chamber music has lead her to perform with violinist Claire Sterling, leader of the second violins with the renowned Scottish Chamber Orchestra, cellist Zoe Knighton from the Flinders Quartet, baritone Geoff Keating and oboist Stéphane Mingasson.
Sarah has lived in Paris since 2000 where she studied with Claudine Mellon and Théodore Paraskivesco.
